A new vacancy now exists within the Public Policy and Vehicle Legislation department for an EU Government Affairs Manager.

PURPOSE OF POST:
To manage the activities of the SMMT in Brussels, growing SMMT’s presence and network with European institutions, UK representation, members states, sister associations, SMMT members and all relevant stakeholders.

To deliver an impactful political engagement programme at EU level and support strategic planning at SMMT.
To represent SMMT in relevant working groups and support SMMT colleagues in their EU engagement and regulatory lobbying activities.
To monitor, influence and create opportunities for colleagues to deliver SMMT expertise and impact across all EU public policy and regulatory issues affecting the UK automotive industry.
To support the development, coordination and communication of SMMT European policy positions, consultation responses and briefings on all automotive issues and SMMT business priorities.
To brief SMMT colleagues and members on all EU dossiers, issues and processes of relevance.
