New Reverse PFMEA Open Training Course Launches This June

SMMT Quality Management (SQM) is pleased to announce the launch of a new ½-Day Reverse PFMEA (RFMEA) open training course, available from 2 June 2026.

The course was successfully delivered for the first time on 30 April, providing manufacturing professionals with a practical understanding of how Reverse PFMEA can be used to strengthen process control, improve product quality and support continuous improvement.

Why Reverse PFMEA?

As OEMs continue to place greater emphasis on manufacturing process robustness, Reverse PFMEA is becoming an increasingly valuable tool for validating Process FMEAs against actual production conditions. Manufacturers including Ford, Renault, Stellantis and General Motors are increasingly encouraging its use as part of effective quality management and continuous improvement activities.

Unlike a traditional PFMEA, which assesses potential risks during planning, Reverse PFMEA starts on the shop floor. It compares documented process controls with the reality of production, helping organisations identify gaps, confirm effective controls and uncover risks that may otherwise go unnoticed.
